Hats, Hats, Hats

Okay, I'll cut to the chase:  Nadia looks great in hats.  And now that I've discovered the consignment shop near us carries a variety of hats it is on!  Here's a sampler of my baby girl in her hats:

I took this today:  she has two front teeth!

Wearing all these hats has made Nadia smarter ;-)

So...guess where she gets it from..? ;-)

Thanksgiving 2010

Thanksgiving is always a great holiday because it involves the three F's--family, friends and food :-)  We were fortunate to have all three this year!

The day before Thanksgiving we had another couple friend over for dinner.  They have an adorable 11 month old named Lia.  She and Nadia had a great time playing and getting to know each other.

On Thanksgiving Day we headed over to my friend Jodi's house for dinner.  I made pernil (roasted pork shoulder) and cheesecake.  Without sounding too conceited both came out soooooo good.  I wish I had taken a picture but our host's husband literally started to cut up the pork the second I placed it down.  We had a really good time and Brandon ate 5 different desserts...then ate my leftovers.

Nadia's wondering if she left the oven on..
Check out Nadia's first tooth!

Nadia the peacemaker

We did some shopping for Black Friday; Saturday we stayed home; Sunday we went to church and Monday had a friend over for lunch so it was a great weekend filled with activities.  Nadia was very tired:

Marine Corps Ball 2010

This past weekend the Adams headed to Myrtle Beach, SC so the lovely couple could attend the annual Marine Corps Ball to celebrate the 235th birthday of the Corps.  The "black-tie" affair took place at the Sheraton Convention Center right in the heart of Myrtle Beach.  It was a lot of fun and I finally got a chance to dress up!!

I know..we look good ;-)

The following day we wanted to see what Myrtle Beach had to offer during the off-season and we settled on spending the day at an outdoor mall-ish place and the Ripley's Aquarium. It was great!

Nadia got to see the fish swim by.  I couldn't get a picture of it, but she tried to "catch" one of the fish swimming by her hand.

Feeling refreshed after a nap
But not so refreshed she'd allow paparazzi.  A girl has standards.

When we walked into the aquarium we noticed they had several Christmas trees set up and on display, which was nice but I think it's too early to have them up.  The cool thing was they had a tree for every state with different ornaments representing the popular characteristics/logos of the state--that was impressive!  So, of course since New York is the greatest state in the universe our tree was proudly displayed upon entrance into the aquarium as follows:

See?  It was so close to the entrance my glasses hadn't transitioned out of its sunglasses state

Sadly, Oregon was literally the last tree we found in the aquarium, quietly tucked away between rocks:
See? Nadia is not impressed  (I only say this to annoy Brandon's since I tend to boast weekly about how great NY is :-)
This was really cute and that is a real blowfish on the right

Lastly, we asked Nadia to sail us away to Jacksonville and she's so cautious she chose not to turn towards whatever is making her face look like this

Brandon's Graduation

It's been a while..I apologize :-( Brandon finally finished his 2-month long course in Quantico, VA and we had a mini family reunion while we were there:

It was good to see Gramma and Grampa, especially since the parents got a break ;-) We went shopping and Nadia made a scene everywhere, and I mean everywhere, we went. We had a fun few days :-)

Halloween 2010

I found the cutest butterfly costume for Nadia to wear (to match her butterfly-themed nursery) and it was too hot here in Jacksonville for her to wear it all day but we managed to take some pictures for a few minutes as the sun was setting.

I couldn't help it if they both look silly....lol

Nadia in the Garden

While Brandon was gone our photographer had a photo shoot in Wilmington's Arboretum a few weeks ago and I wanted to take the opportunity of taking more pictures of Nadia. And yes, we have an unofficial photographer--I like to feel like I live in Beverly Hills once in a while ;-) Nadia fussed and was hungry and cranky and overall not in the mood for pictures but they came out 1000% better than I expected, so much so they made me cry!

Can you blame me for thinking I have the most beautiful child in the world??

And Now a Word from Our Sponsor...

Labor Day Weekend 2010

This past weekend Miss Nadia and I headed north to Quantico, VA to spend time with Brandon (he's taking a course for the next few weeks at the Marine Corps Base there). It was beautiful weather!

Miss Nadia was happy to see her Daddy. We spent lots of time outdoors enjoying the cooler weather and the sun.

We sat by the fountain, threw in a penny and made a wish!

10 seconds with Miss N

Miss N is showing her ironic side. She was perfectly happy not crawling (at least not the "real" crawl), not rolling over and not causing Mommy worry. But as soon as Gramma leaves it's time to let it rip. Gramma was kind enough to give her the Exersaucer she loves as her video attests:

Leave it to Miss N to wait until Gramma left before unveiling her crawling skills, rolling over from back to front (no more quick bathroom breaks while she waits on the bed :-( AND she is practicing how to sit! I was NOT prepared for a trifecta of accomplishments in less than a week. My little girl is growing too fast--soon she won't need me to carry her and I will be so sad until I realize how much easier shopping will be.

Tonight the Adams girls will be waiting for Hurricane Earl to pass so we can happily go on our road trip tomorrow!

Nadia Illustrated: Swimsuit Edition

A very good friend (thank you Arica!) sent us a bathing suit for Miss Nadia so we wanted to send her pictures of the infant supermodel showing off her newest wardrobe:

This was taken at location in Berkeley Manor

Miss Nadia allowed me to assist during her shoot..I was honored!

We decided to take a break because it was really hot out..Miss Nadia was pleased

*Gasp* Who let you into my trailer???
Please no pictures! No pictures!
